COMEDY CENTRAL(R) Releases Jim Gaffigan's 'King Baby' Stand-Up Special on CD and DVD Hitting Stores on Tuesday, March 31

NEW YORK, March 10, 2009 -- In this Austin, TX performance at the Paramount Theater that capped off his sold-out "The Sexy Tour" in 2008, Jim Gaffigan does not let the audience catch its breath. This all-new stand-up special "King Baby," proves no other comedian working today can romanticize laziness and over-indulgence like Gaffigan. The "King Baby" CD will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Records and the separate "King Baby" DVD will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. Each will be available in stores nationwide on Tuesday, March 31.

Gaffigan has proven himself a major talent beloved by a wide range of audiences after achieving milestones in stand-up, acting and writing. He is one of the top five comics touring today and sells out multiple nights at huge theaters across the country. As a stand-up comedian, Gaffigan's clever, quiet style is captured to perfection on his third album, "King Baby." Featuring the signature Gaffigan jokes fans expect on topics ranging from bowling to bacon (he really likes bacon), "King Baby" is an hour of Gaffigan at his best. His first CD, "Doing My Time," has sold over 75,000 copies and his second, "Beyond The Pale," has sold in excess of 175,000.

The greatly anticipated follow-up to the platinum-selling "Beyond the Pale" DVD, the "King Baby" DVD boasts over 30 minutes of stand-up never-before-seen in the aired COMEDY CENTRAL special. The DVD also features over an hour of special bonus features including: three episodes of the Emmy®-nominated "Pale Force" starring Gaffigan and Conan O'Brien as the animated super hero crime-fighting duo, four episodes of the Internet cult hit "Our Massive Planet," a never-before-aired British interview and an XM/Sirius® interview.

The world premiere of the "King Baby" stand-up special airs on Sunday, March 29 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on COMEDY CENTRAL.

Last December, Gaffigan finished his latest COMEDY CENTRAL Live Tour, "Jim Gaffigan: The Sexy Tour," during which he performed in 50 sold-out shows across 25 cities. The tour culminated at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX where he filmed "King Baby."

In the near future, he will reprise his role on the third season of TBS's flagship comedy "My Boys," premiering this spring. In June, Gaffigan can be seen in Sam Mendes' "Away We Go" for Focus Features with John Krasinski and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Gaffigan's talent has earned him an unprecedented number of appearances on both CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" and NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Scripted television guest appearances include an upcoming guest starring role on HBO's cult hit "Flight of the Conchords," with previous roles on "That 70's Show," "Ed," "Sex and the City," "The Ellen Show," "Third Watch" and all three of the "Law & Order" show variations. Gaffigan has also been seen in such films as "The Love Guru," "13 Going On 30," "Super Troopers," "17," "Three Kings," the independent film "The Living Wake," and "The Great New Wonderful," a meditation on the aftermath of 9/11.
